A superb vintage Timex Triathlon Indiglo 8-Lap Memory, manufactured in October 1993 and powered by the Timex 731-A movement.
This is a fantastic survivor from the early days of Timex INDIGLO, combining unmistakable early-1990s Triathlon styling with an 8-lap memory chronograph, countdown timer, alarm and Timex's electroluminescent INDIGLO illumination.
This particular example is in exceptionally clean, near-pristine vintage condition, especially impressive for a watch now more than 30 years old. The crystal, case, buttons and printed legends all present beautifully, while the original-style black and red Triathlon strap remains remarkably clean.
The watch is also supplied with its Timex 731-995002 instruction manual, corresponding with the 731 movement family, together with a Timex display stand.
When acquired, the watch was still fitted with what appeared to be its original period Maxell battery. Combined with its exceptional cosmetic condition, it is possible that the watch was originally a display or unsold retail example before entering long-term storage, although its early history cannot be confirmed.
A new battery has now been fitted, the battery compartment checked and the caseback gasket regreased. All functions have been carefully tested, including the chronograph, lap memory, countdown timer, alarm and INDIGLO illumination.
